Omaha Beach walkthrough 2018.
An extended walk onto Omaha beach below the American Cemetery at Colleville, Normandy, France. I start on the beach before moving along it and back up to WN62 (which I mistakenly refer to as the St Laurent draw rather than the Colleville draw).
In the video I refer to the German soldier, Heinrich Severloh, who killed many Americans on the morning of D-Day. He fired 12,000 rounds over 9 hours defending Widerstansnest 62 (Resistance Nest 62). I mention his autobiography: the German title is "WN-62 – Erinnerungen an Omaha Beach Normandie, 6. Juni 1944." The English version: "WN 62: A German Soldier's Memories of the Defence of Omaha Beach, Normandy, June 6, 1944" ISBN: 978-3932922237
